Ренегатство или конформизм? Проосманские настроения в Фессалонике в конце XIV – первой трети XV в.

Аннотация


Статья посвящена изучению специфики протурецких настроений среди жителей Фессалоники в период двух ее османских осад: 1383–1387 и 1422–1430 гг. По материалам сочинений византийских писателей, а также венецианских документов исследуются причины возникновения проосманских настроений в городской среде, рассматриваются отдельные случаи ренегатства византийцев и попытки жителей осажденного города заключить союзы с османами. Автор приходит к выводу, что подчинение туркам ассоциировалось у рядовых византийцев с политической и экономической стабильностью, в то время как внимание императорской власти и местной администрации к нуждам фессалоникийцев в период обеих осад воспринималось ими как недостаточное. Именно это, по мнению автора статьи, повлияло на формирование у городского сообщества устойчивого представления о необходимости смены подданства в пользу османов. В особенности это проявилось во время осады 1422–1430 гг., поскольку тяжелое экономическое положение горожан, конфликты с венецианской властью, получившей город в свое управление в 1423 г., а также предшествующий опыт сосуществования с завоевателями в 1387–1402 гг. привели к поляризации городской общины и обострению социальных противоречий. Таким образом, сильные протурецкие настроения в городской среде, а также всеобщее недоверие местных жителей к латинянам не позволили венецианским властям эффективно организовать оборону города перед решающим османским штурмом в 1430 г.
